I worked part-time in the department as Software Manger and the
job
description included mainly maintainence, upgrade and installation of
departmental software as well as software
support/helpline for staffs and
students. Other duties included computer tutorials (gPROMS, Word, Matlab, ChemCAD) and
maintaining the departmental
website http://www.chemeng.ucl.ac.uk. However, the focus had been on upgrading the departmental
UNIX system
softwares which included:
- XEmacs
- XFig/Transfig
- Ghostscript/Ghostview
- LyX
- GNUplot
- OpenSSH
- ImageMagick
